My name is Betty Scholl and I live just outside Charlottesville, Virginia. I have been painting since the 1970's, specializing mostly in abstract acrylic works. My paintings are personal and inspired by color, light and nature.
When I was younger, I used to lie in my bed, looking out the window at the tree that overhung our house. It was so beautiful, that I wanted to be a part of it - absorbed into its beauty. That is the feeling I have tried to capture in my paintings - the feeling of being absorbed by color.
