Original Acrylic Abstract Paintings on Canvas

My name is Betty Scholl and I live just outside Charlottesville, Virginia. I have been painting since the 1970's, specializing generally in abstract acrylic works. My paintings reflect my personal response to the light, color and nature that I see around me and I hope to arouse a similar response in my viewers.

When I was younger, I used to lie in my bed, looking out the window at the tree that overhung our house. It was so beautiful, that I wanted to be a part of it - absorbed into its beauty. That is the feeling I have tried to capture in my paintings - the feeling of being one with the color and the mood of the piece. If I have moved you, then I have succeeded.
